We're still expecting temperatures well into the 90s this week here in the Upstate, so most of us aren't thinking about heat just yet.
But here's something many homeowners don't realize: if your home has a heat pump, the outdoor unit that's been working hard to cool your home all summer will soon be asked to reverse direction and heat it.
That's why this time of year is a great opportunity to pay attention to how your system has been performing.
Did you notice:
- Your system struggling to keep up this summer?
- Higher-than-normal electric bills?
- New or unusual noises?
- Drainage or humidity problems?
- Certain rooms that never seemed comfortable?
- Repairs becoming more frequent?
If your heat pump struggled through the cooling season, don't assume everything will be fine when you switch the thermostat to HEAT.
Fall is one of the best times to have your system evaluated because we can address problems before that first cold morning when everyone turns their heat on at once.
At Thrasher's Heating & Air, Inc., we'll diagnose your equipment and explain what we find. Sometimes it needs maintenance. Sometimes it needs a repair. And sometimes an older system really is approaching the point where replacement makes more sense. Our job is to give you the information you need to make that decision.
If you already know replacement is in your future, ask us about our 10% Fall/Winter Installation Special for qualifying installations scheduled October 1st through December 20th.
Don't wait for the first cold morning to find out whether your heat works. Call 864-201-3172.
